Since 1993, The Scuba Shop has been the Caribbean’s premier destination for scuba diving and watersports. What began as a small shop in Captain Oliver’s Marina, Oyster Pond, has evolved into the largest dive and service center in the Windward and Leeward Islands. Today, our flagship Simpson Bay location at La Palapa Marina offers everything from top-of-the-line scuba gear and snorkeling equipment to personalized fittings, expert servicing, and PADI dive certifications. Owned and operated by father-daughter team Peter and Kim Frye, our shop combines decades of technical knowledge with genuine passion for life on and under the water. Peter (aka Pops) brings world-class expertise as a certified service technician for leading dive brands, while Kim leads operations with a focus on customer service, wholesale accounts, and conservation efforts. This is a family business, we do what we love and love what we do!
Together with Peter and Kim, inside the shop you will find the wonderful ladies Mariska and Angie.
Mariska ensures you find the perfect gear with expert fittings and personalized recommendations. When you buy new dive gear, she will set it up and test it for you. On the technical side she also assists with scuba equipment service.
Angie, when not demanding Alexa to "play music", makes trip planning effortless by arranging dive and snorkel excursions with care and enthusiasm.
Hensley can be found in our DOT certified hydrostatic re-test center and fill station or in our equipment service room working on your scuba gear. He makes sure that our dive school equipment works perfectly, our compressors run smoothly, cylinders are safe to use and that everything on property is maintained and working properly.
In our PADI 5 Star Dive Center, The Scuba Shop SXM, you will meet our highly trained team of PADI Instructors and Divemasters. Our Instructors teach with a passion, our Divemasters love to show you around our beautiful dive sites, and our Captain looks after you and our beautiful Mermaid's Tale.
